What does the 12x16 in your name refer to?: Our original location had the street address of 1216, which correlates with a standard frame size. When we moved to our present location, we kept the name.
How long has the gallery been in existence?: We had our fifth anniversary show in November-December, 2010.
I've never visited an art gallery before and feel a little wary. If I come in, will I get a sales pitch?: Absolutely not. We just want you to enjoy the art.
I understand you are a collective gallery. What does that mean?: A collective gallery (also known as a cooperative) is owned and run by its member artists.
So all of the artwork here was produced by your members?: No, in addition to our member artists, we regularly display the work of guest artists.
How many members do you have?: We are currently at 13 members.
Can I show my work here as a guest artist?: Maybe. See our submissions page.
